American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a General Surgery OR position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2 years of Trauma OR experience and an active NV RN license.

• Work in an 18-OR General Surgery department at a Level II Trauma Center
• Patient population spans neonates to geriatrics
• Common procedures include trauma, neurosurgery (ACDF, spinal fusions, craniotomies), Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, trauma ortho, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT
• Schedule: Monday 6:45am–7:15pm, Tuesday–Wednesday 6:45am–3:15pm, Thursday 6:45am–7:15pm
• On-call is required for this position
• Epic EMR used for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• 13-week contract duration

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may apply and must begin the application process immediately upon offer)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Trauma OR setting required

• Extremely high-volume, fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile regional radius — volume and pace are comparable to a Level I Trauma Center
• Facility is the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
• Coverage for a minimum of 2 major holidays is required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Returning travelers must observe a 13-week break after the end of their previous contract before returning, regardless of total time worked
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration, as no make-up time will be added at the end of the contract
