American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit (Med/Surg Tele) position requiring at least 1 year of travel nursing experience and Med/Surg or Stepdown background, working night shifts in a hospital setting.

Details

• Works in a Medicine Specialty Unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes a variety of cases ranging from simple to complex health conditions
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required for this unit
• Night shift schedule, 3 days per week at 12 hours per day (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Level I facility experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be considered
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for another contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer
