American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) position at an acute care rural hospital, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and active ND or compact RN licensure.

• Acute care rural hospital setting, more than 1 hour from the nearest NICU with limited specialty services
• LDRP unit with 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds
• Patient population includes patients ≥35 weeks in labor and mom/baby postpartum couplets
• Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: Labor 1:1–2, Postpartum 1:2–3
• RNs are required to titrate drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, and Zofran (antepartum/labor) and Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Percocet, and Toradol (postpartum)
• Neonatal respiratory equipment in use includes CPAP, BiPap, and high-flow
• EFM system: OB Trace Vue
• EMR: MEDITECH
• 12-hour shifts, Day/Night rotating schedule, 3x12s per week
• Block scheduling; self-scheduling not specified
• Every third weekend required
• First to float; floating is to MSP/ED for helping hands, primarily 1:1 patient sitting
• Holiday coverage required based on availability

Requirements

• Active ND or compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Required certifications (all must be active; pending not accepted): BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Experience with titratable drips in an OB setting
• Familiarity with neonatal respiratory support equipment (CPAP, BiPap, high-flow) preferred
• A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

• This is a rural hospital setting; key attributes for success include teamwork, independence, strong communication, and clinical knowledge
• A charge nurse is present on each shift and carries a patient assignment
• RNs circulate for the baby during C-sections; surgery manages the procedure itself
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 x 12-hour shifts
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) are not eligible; candidates previously placed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered
• RTO of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract must be requested upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
