American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Unit position requiring cardiac stepdown/PCU experience and current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed mixed Cardiovascular Unit located in a newer hospital tower, with 12 Step-Down beds and 12 Med-Surg beds
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Patient population includes cardiac stepdown, med-surg, cardiac rehab, and pre/post cardiac procedure patients requiring stabilization
• Responsibilities include working with chest tubes, IV drips, cardiac monitoring, and EKG interpretation
• Room monitors are present at bedside
• Collaboration with cardiac rehab, education, and discharge planning teams is expected

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact eNLC license)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac unit experience with stepdown/PCU experience required
• Familiarity with chest tubes and IV drips required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patients, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, assisting with minor diagnostic procedures, and coordinating discharge planning
• Candidate must collaborate with cardiac rehab, patient education teams, and support staff
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks total (including any extensions); a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for a subsequent contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements) is strictly enforced — non-compliance may result in cancellation
