Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience, with floating responsibilities to NICU, L&D, and Postpartum.

Details

• Hospital-based PICU with 4 dedicated PICU beds and 8 convertible beds (monitored or general pediatrics)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 in the PICU and 1:3-4 for general pediatrics
• Floating required to NICU (training provided), and to L&D and Postpartum as helping hands only
• Equipment used includes CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every third weekend required
• Self-scheduling with manager final approval; block scheduling is permitted but assigned weekends must be honored
• No PCAs on unit — total patient care is required
• COVID-positive patients are cared for on this unit

Requirements

• Active NJ State or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS and PALS
• Must be able to pass a basic arrhythmia exam
• COVID vaccination card required for consideration
• Nursys verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide total care to PICU and pediatric patients, including those with COVID
• NICU float orientation/training is provided
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a different pay structure
