American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of RN experience, Cerner proficiency, and an active DC RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 9-week contract
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 16-bed unit
• Cerner EMR used; experience required

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• CPI certification required for this position
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a U.S. hospital required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Tele acute care inpatient experience required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required; BSN highly desired
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must successfully complete a telemetry rhythm interpretation test prior to start
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Valid U.S. SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides patient-centered care including initial and ongoing assessments, review of systems, and age-appropriate interventions across the lifespan
• Documents admission assessments, nursing needs, and care plans in accordance with policy and procedures
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position; local candidates are not accepted
• All certifications must be AHA-issued
