American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position in Nashville, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and an active TN or Compact RN license.

Details

• Critical Care Unit (CVICU) in a hospital setting in Nashville, TN
• 15-bed unit serving a high-acuity cardiovascular and neurological patient population
• Patient diagnoses include cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, MI, CHF, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, cardiopulmonary arrest, and post-VAD placement
• Cardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery are the primary service lines
• Unit also provides ICU-level care including ECMO for complex cases
• Patients served range from adolescent through late adult (ages 14+)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Direct patient care team consists of RNs and Patient Care Techs
• Day shift: 06:45–19:15
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee or a valid Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

• Provides ICU-level nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and neurosurgical patients, including post-operative open heart and ECMO cases
• Fast-paced, high-acuity environment drawing patients from across Tennessee and surrounding regions
• Local candidates are accepted; however, candidates residing within the facility's radius may be subject to a reduced pay rate
• Full SSN and full date of birth are required for consideration
• NIHSS certification is renewed yearly for Group A and every 2 years for Groups B–F
