Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position requiring Epic proficiency and remote telemetry experience on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Hospital Med/Surg unit with 33 beds and an average daily census of 28
• Patient population includes adults through geriatrics with diagnoses including diabetes, post-op, wound vacs, and bariatrics
• Remote telemetry monitoring required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• May perform Relief Charge RN duties as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
• The listed shift and schedule are firm — no alternate shift or schedule change requests are permitted
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
