American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring both circulate and scrub experience across a high-volume, multi-specialty OR environment.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting serving an adult to geriatric patient population
• Multi-specialty OR supporting General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal cases
• 16 OR rooms with an average daily census of 35 patients
• Utilizes Epic EMR, Pyxis medication dispensing, and two Da Vinci XI robotic surgical systems
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Approximately 2–3 weekend shifts per contract period
• On-call required: approximately 7–8 call shifts per 6-week schedule, plus 1 weekend call and 1–2 weekend shifts
• Floating is rare
• 14-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• Both circulate and scrub experience are required — this is a hard stop requirement
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO is capped at a maximum of 7 days for the contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)
• No scheduling requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted — the posted day shift is firm
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
• Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
