American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical (Renal) unit, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 1 year of experience on nights.

Details

• Hospital Med-Surg unit with a focus on renal patients
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with a 49-bed unit averaging 48 patients daily
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted night shift is firm
• Holiday coverage is required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period: travelers must work all holidays if one or two occur, and two of three if all three fall within the assignment
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full calendar year before returning as a travel nurse
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
