American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pre/Post-Op position at a Magnet-designated academic medical center in Madison, WI, requiring PACU/recovery experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Pre/Post-Op unit in a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital and major referral center ranked #1 in Wisconsin
• Patient population includes outpatient surgical, inpatient and outpatient GI, and bronchoscopy procedure patients; surgical specialties include urology, ophthalmology, and general surgery
• Day/Evening shift, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM
• No on-call requirement; may occasionally need to remain past scheduled shift end to complete caseload
• Travelers are first to float and may be scheduled across multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license issued from permanent address state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• PACU/recovery experience required; ambulatory setting experience with patient discharge strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Basic arrhythmia/telemetry experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency test prior to starting the assignment
• Permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the primary work site

• Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient surgical, GI, and bronchoscopy procedures
• Establish individualized discharge goals and continuing care strategies in collaboration with patients, families, and care providers
• On-site parking requires a permit through UW Transportation; alternative options include bus, park & ride, and private parking lots
