American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Flex Pool position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and telemetry skills, with night shift and every-other-weekend availability.

Details

• Med/Surg Flex Pool position in a 276-bed hospital setting
• Night shift: 7p–7:30a, scheduled as 3x12s or 4x12s
• Standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required on a PRN basis for low census
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities required
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license — must be in hand prior to start date; candidates with a pending SC license may still be considered
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only)
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS (AHA only)
• Experience with telemetry, insulin management, and rapid response required
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Modules must be completed prior to start and average approximately 4 hours
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
