American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a SICU/CICU position in San Antonio, TX, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active TX RN license.

Details

• Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 13-week contract
• Works in a Surgical/Cardiac ICU (SICU/CICU) within an acute care hospital setting
• Rotating weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Procedures performed include chest tubes, GI scopes, intubations, central line management, arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
• IABP and CRRT exposure preferred
• MICU and MSICU background preferred
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Floating is required per facility floating policy

Requirements

• Active TX RN license required — temp licenses will not be accepted
• Compact RN license accepted if TX-eligible
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 2–3 years of ICU experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Navy scrub top and pants required; navy or white scrub jacket permitted
• Hair must be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; facial hair must be neatly trimmed
• Visible body art should be covered whenever possible
• Visible piercings other than ears are not permitted
• Punctual attendance is strictly enforced — clock-in by 6:38 AM/PM; arrivals after 6:45 AM/PM are considered tardy
• Badging in and out for each shift is required, along with a full 30-minute meal break
