American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position covering adult medical, adult surgical, and pediatric patients, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital Med/Surg environment covering adult medical, adult surgical, and pediatric patient populations
• Floating is required between the adult medical unit (3N: 19 adult beds, 5 peds beds) and adult surgical unit (2N: 23 surgical beds)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5, with LPN and/or CNA support staff available for vitals, POC testing, daily living assistance, and ambulation
• Common procedures include medication administration, vital signs, head-to-toe assessments, IV therapy, blood administration, POC testing, and isolation precautions
• Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, Philips vital signs monitors, vein viewers, bladder scanner, and medical supplies
• Charting is performed in Meditech
• Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week

Requirements

• Active RN license in Indiana (IN) or a compact state license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication scanning and administration, vital signs monitoring, head-to-toe assessments, IV management, blood administration, POC testing, and isolation care
• Orientation is conducted on the unit through hands-on training with a preceptor
• Scrub dress code requires any solid color scrubs (no denim), closed-toe and closed-heel shoes, only stud earrings (no other visible piercings), and long hair must be pulled back
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
