American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Unit position requiring cardiac and stepdown/PCU experience, with familiarity in chest tubes and drips on a day shift schedule.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular Unit located in a newer tower facility
• Mixed cardiovascular floor with 24 beds — 12 Step-Down and 12 Med-Surg beds
• Patient population includes cardiac step-down, med-surg, cardiac rehab, and pre/post cardiac procedure patients, as well as cardiac stabilizations
• Candidates must be comfortable managing chest tubes and drips in a half med-surg, half step-down environment
• Monitors are located in each patient room
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac unit and stepdown/PCU experience required
• Experience with chest tubes and IV drips required
• ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac rhythms and rates, EKG interpretation, and collaborating with cardiac rehab, education, and discharge planning teams
• Administers medications, manages IV infusions and blood products, and documents patient responses to nursing interventions
• Candidate's full date of birth (DOB) is required for consideration
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period following their initial contract (max 26 weeks total including any extension)
