American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Unit position requiring cardiac and stepdown/PCU experience, with night shift availability and AHA-issued certifications.

Details

• Mixed cardiovascular floor with 24 beds — 12 Step-Down and 12 Med-Surg beds — located in a newer hospital tower
• Patient population includes cardiac rehab, pre/post cardiac procedures, and cardiac stabilizations
• Nurses may be asked to interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms and rates
• Experience with chest tubes and IV drips required given the half med/surg, half step-down unit mix
• Bedside cardiac monitoring equipment available in patient rooms
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac unit experience with stepdown/PCU background required
• Familiarity with chest tubes and IV drips required
• ADN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and collaborating on cardiac rehab, patient education, and discharge planning
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including cardiac rehab and care coordination is expected
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 total weeks worked before being eligible for a new contract
• BSN is preferred but not required
