American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Surgical Unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and Stepdown/PCU experience, working nights in a hospital setting.

Details

• Hospital-based Post Surgical Unit (Med/Surg setting)
• Patient population includes pre- and post-operative surgical patients, including those with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, nasogastric tubes (NGTs), and dobhoff tubes (DHTs)
• ENT and/or Transplant patient experience preferred
• Patient ratios are 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for step-down patients
• Step-down/PCU level care is provided within this unit
• Night shift schedule
• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• OR (operating room) candidates will not be considered
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Full date of birth (DOB) and full SSN required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include caring for assigned patients post-operatively, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses to interventions, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply, as workers are only permitted one extension for a total of 26 weeks
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements) is strictly enforced — non-compliance may result in cancellation
• BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
