American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (Stepdown) position requiring a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience and Level I trauma experience, working night shifts in a hospital setting.

Details

• Work in a Pediatric ICU Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule
• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts
• Level I trauma center experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Pediatric ICU experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, and monitoring physiological data
• Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before applying for a subsequent contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after booking; start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
