American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg unit night shift position requiring at least one year of experience and familiarity with dialysis site care and central line management.

Details

• Hospital-based inpatient setting in a Medicine/Nephrology unit
• Patient population includes nephrology, med/surg, and stepdown-level patients
• Familiarity with dialysis site care (e.g., HD catheter precautions, fistula access restrictions), central line care and management, foley care and management, and end-of-life care
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate Compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Charge nurse experience is a strong plus
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates
• Full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient caseload, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicates care plans with patients and families
• Previous travelers who have completed a contract at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a new contract; extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks
• Compliance requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) are strictly enforced and must be initiated immediately upon acceptance — non-compliance may result in cancellation
