American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a day-shift Telemetry position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA-certified BLS and ACLS and at least 1 year of telemetry or related nursing experience.

Details

• Acute Telemetry unit in an inpatient hospital setting
• Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med/surg overflow
• Cardiac drip management is performed; nitrate drips are not used
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, occasionally 6:1
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units required as needed
• 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients using the nursing process
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Provides patient and family education, addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs
• New hire orientation must be completed within the first 30 days, including organizational and unit-specific competency validation with a designated preceptor
• BSN is preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
