American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Medical unit position at a Level 1 trauma facility, requiring trach and home ventilator experience and AHA-issued BLS and PALS certifications.

Details

• Pediatric Medical unit in a hospital setting at a Level 1 trauma facility
• Patient population ranges from newborns to 18 years of age across a broad range of diagnoses, including respiratory and GI cases
• Experience with trach patients and home ventilators is required due to the patient population seen on this unit
• Day shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only
• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience required
• Experience with a broad range of pediatric cases, including respiratory, GI, trach care, and home ventilator management
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Full date of birth and full SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, obtaining and monitoring physiological data, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicates care plans and discharge instructions with patients and families, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period; prior workers are limited to one extension per engagement (26 weeks total)
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon offer acceptance
• BSN is preferred but not required
