American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Medical unit position requiring trach/ventilator experience and broad pediatric experience in a Level 1 trauma facility.

Details

• Work in a Pediatric Medical unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population spans newborns to 18 years of age across a wide range of diagnoses — no single specialty focus
• Respiratory, GI, and other general pediatric medical cases are commonly seen
• Patients with tracheostomies and home ventilators are part of the caseload
• Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience with tracheostomy care and home ventilator management required
• Broad pediatric nursing experience including respiratory and GI cases strongly preferred
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• English proficiency (speak, read, write) required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care to a diverse pediatric population with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Responsibilities include monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to treatment
• Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicates care plans with patients and families
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
• Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility may extend once, for a maximum total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before returning for a new contract
• Compliance requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must be initiated promptly after accepting an offer — this facility enforces strict compliance deadlines with no flexibility on start dates
