American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN for a long-term care skilled nursing facility in Wyoming, requiring BLS and a WY or compact LPN license with MedSurg or geriatric experience preferred.

Details

• Long-term care skilled nursing facility (SNF) with a 160-bed capacity
• Patient population ranges from mid-30s to mid-90s with diagnoses including Huntington's disease, dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes, coronary artery disease, vascular disease, stroke and TIA, neuromuscular diseases, and rehabilitation needs
• Dialysis patients are managed at an outpatient facility
• Clinical services supported by an affiliated hospital lab and radiology department, with transportation provided by the LTC facility
• Charting via Meditech EMR; medication administration via MedRight system
• Equipment includes VS towers, INR monitors, glucometers, patient lifts, bladder scanners, IV pumps, CADD pumps, wound vacs, SCDs, and assistive devices
• 12-hour shifts covering all shifts and weekends based on facility need
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 20 residents when serving as the medication administration nurse; up to 45 residents when medication aides are present
• CNA support staff available on the unit

Requirements

• Current WY state or compact LPN license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• MedSurg and/or geriatric experience preferred
• 2 current professional references required for consideration — one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years
• Ability to work all shifts including weekends as needed by the facility
• Willingness to float to all neighborhoods/units within the facility to meet staffing needs

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, feeding tube care, wound vac and wound management, trach care, ostomy care, and restorative nursing
• May function primarily as a medication administration nurse depending on staffing
• 2-day facility orientation provided
• Navy blue scrubs required; no facial piercings; full sleeve or objectionable tattoos must be covered
• All facility policies including dress code must be followed
• A 36/48 rotating schedule may be considered
