American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health Inpatient Psychiatric position in Holyoke, MA, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience and a current MA RN license.

Details

• Behavioral health inpatient psychiatric hospital setting with 104 beds across five units
• Patient population includes adults, geriatric, and pediatric patients (ages 5–17) across two 24-bed adult units, a 24-bed geriatric unit, and a 12-bed pediatric unit
• Patient ratio of 1:8 (variable); geriatric and pediatric units have lower ratios
• Common diagnoses include schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
• Uses Cerner EHR
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (RQI certifications are not accepted)
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN), Nursing Diploma, or BSN from an accredited program required
• Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric populations
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidate must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients through the nursing process
• Develops individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians, supervisors, and colleagues as appropriate
• Participates in discharge planning
• Supervision is provided by shift supervisors only
• Blue scrubs required
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
