Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring active IN or Compact licensure and a minimum of 18 months of experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele/PCU unit
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:30)
• Patient ratios of 1:5 on MS/PCU float
• Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Required clinical skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions

Requirements

• Active RN license — IN state or Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of Med/Surg Tele or PCU experience required
• Current BLS certification required; both AHA and RQI formats accepted
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation required
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the experience requirement
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• RN travelers holding an Indiana state license are not eligible for this position (MS/Tele); this restriction does not apply to Periop/OR, Allied, or Ambulatory RN roles
• Scrub colors required: red top, black pants
