American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Direct Observation Unit (Telemetry) position requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background, working day shifts in an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Direct Observation Unit (T6 Medical) in an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
• Epic EMR used; experience required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend fluent English
• Basic computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, email, web browser)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include completing patient admission assessments, developing and modifying individualized care plans, implementing nursing interventions, and maintaining accurate documentation
• Department-specific duties include assessing IV sites every 4 hours, starting new IVs per facility policy, and identifying and responding to changes in patient status
• Documentation standards are monitored via quarterly chart audits
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment for 1 year at this health system must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
