American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Neuro-Stroke unit position on a night shift schedule, requiring telemetry capability and NIH Stroke Scale certification.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Medical/Neuro-Stroke unit serving adult patients in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neurological and stroke patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit is supported by PCTs, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Night shift: 18:30–07:00
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Must possess a valid US Social Security Number and a US home address
• Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, communicating patient condition, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and carrying out physician and nursing orders
• Discharge planning coordination with the healthcare team is an expected part of the role
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment are essential
• Standard precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment are required
