American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - First Assistant (RNFA) with required CVOR experience and proficient endoscopic vein harvesting skills for a hospital-based OR position with significant call and weekend requirements.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room with a focus on cardiovascular surgery (CVOR)
• Primary responsibilities center on cardiac cases with float coverage to general OR including orthopedic, vascular, gynecologic, thoracic, and general surgeries when cardiac cases are not scheduled
• Endoscopic vein harvesting is a core component of this role
• Day shift schedule: either 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) or 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), 40 hours per week
• Call requirement of 12–18 days per month
• Weekend requirement of 2–3 weekends per month

Requirements

• Active RN license in Michigan (MI) required
• Current BLS certification required
• CVOR experience required
• Proficient endoscopic vein harvesting skills required
• RNFA or Surgical Technologist First Assistant (STFA) credentials accepted
• Minimum 5 years of experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates must demonstrate proficiency ratings of 3 or higher in both vein harvesting and cardiac areas
• STFA candidates are eligible to apply and will be considered at a different rate
• First Assist coverage spans multiple surgical specialties when not assigned to cardiac cases
