American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Cardiac unit position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 42-bed Cardiac Medical/Telemetry unit (6 North) in a hospital setting
• Primary patient population includes cardiac patients presenting with chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Also cares for medical patients with pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, and occasional stroke, as well as surgical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• Facility uses Meditech EMR (experience preferred but not required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No prior disciplinary hits on license (past or current)
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if they have at least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required at minimum
• Current NURSYS verification required
• Active state or compact RN license must be on hand for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Full SSN required for consideration

• Team includes dedicated nursing and ancillary staff supporting specialized patient recovery
• Virtual orientation provided, including competency-based modules — no HealthStream modules required prior to start
• Candidates will be required to complete an online pre-test as part of the hiring process
• Solid navy scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restrictions
