American Traveler is seeking a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification and Louisiana state licensure for a hospital Oncology Radiation Therapy department treating cancer and osteoarthritis patients using advanced modalities.

• Hospital-based Oncology Radiation Therapy department in Alexandria, LA
• Patient population includes cancer and osteoarthritis patients
• Modalities include SBRT, IMRT, standard radiation therapy, and breath-hold treatments
• Two therapists are assigned per machine with a daily patient volume of 15–25 patients
• Equipment includes Varian Trilogy and TrueBeam linear accelerators
• Uses MOSAIQ for documentation and billing
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• No weekend, on-call, or floating requirements
• 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy or Radiography
• Active Louisiana state Radiation Therapy Technology certification (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification from the AHA
• Experience operating Trilogy and/or TrueBeam linear accelerators
• Ability to treat and simulate SRS and SBRT patients
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and clinical judgment
• Knowledge of Radiation Therapy theory and practice
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Copy of active certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver prescribed doses of ionizing radiation under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and document pertinent treatment parameters
• Perform simulation procedures, accurately outline treatment portals, and maintain the treatment record
• Conduct daily quality assurance tests and troubleshoot minor equipment and patient setup issues
• Report machine malfunctions or deviations to the physicist and document incidents in the maintenance log
• Fabricate and apply appropriate immobilization devices and techniques for patient setups
• Coordinate patient treatment appointments with physician, therapist, and chemotherapy schedules
• Perform weekly chart audits for billing and documentation accuracy on both the linear accelerator and simulator
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a radius rule that may affect travel pay eligibility
