American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN with psychiatric nursing experience for a night shift Behavioral Health/Adult unit position in Santa Fe, NM, requiring BLS and CPI certification.

Details

• Inpatient adult behavioral health/psychiatric unit in a regional medical center setting
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM RN license or current Compact state RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served
• Ability to handle emergency and crisis situations
• Ability to perform heavy physical tasks including positioning, pushing, and transferring patients; considerable standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching required
• Hearing and visual acuity within normal or correctable limits; manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required
• SSN required for consideration (Canadian SINs not accepted)

• Coordinates and implements individualized patient care in a safe and efficient manner consistent with unit standards
• Demonstrates sensitivity to patients' rights and communicates clearly and appropriately to the developmental age of patients
• Reports to the Patient Care Director or Manager
• Work environment involves exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases; subject to varied hours and stressful professional relationships
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates are not accepted on this position
