American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology/Med-Surg RN for a night shift travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, with chemotherapy administration skills required.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility
• Oncology/Med-Surg unit with an average daily census of 24 patients across 24 beds
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (1845–0715)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting in Cerner
• Schedule requests may be discussed with the manager
• Free parking on-site (permit required, obtained during orientation)

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — must be in hand or in active application process
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Chemotherapy administration experience required, including: IV push, continuous infusion, oral administration, body fluid handling post-chemo, cytotoxic spill management/disposal, and monitoring
• IV therapy/infusion skills required: accessing and managing ports, central line care and blood draw, PICC line care, blood/blood product administration, antifungals, antivirals, coagulation factors, and starting IVs
• OCN or ONS/ONCC certification preferred
• Chemo certification preferred but not required
