American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a large Level I Trauma, Academic Medical Center requiring at least 2 years of CVOR experience and the ability to scrub cardiac surgery independently and circulate.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a large, Level I Trauma Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ beds
• Average patient ratio of 1:2
• Must scrub cardiac surgery independently and circulate
• Flexible shift options available including 5x8s, 3x12s, or a mix of 12s and 8s — RN's choice
• On-call required: 2 calls per M-F week (either 7p–11p or 7p–7a) plus 1 day per week available to stay late
• Weekend on-call required: two 24-hour calls per 6-week schedule block
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Charting performed in Epic
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted provided active license is obtained prior to start date
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Experience at a large Trauma Center required
• Must be able to scrub cardiac surgery independently and circulate
• Candidates must not have any priors on their nursing license
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require additional facility approval
• Block scheduling is not available
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is available for approximately $125/month
