American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of surgical recovery experience, including pediatric and critical care backgrounds, with on-call availability.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (9:00–17:30)
• PACU unit within a hospital setting
• All surgical specialties except cardiac, including Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN cases
• Pediatric patient population included
• Experience recovering patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and A-lines required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Cross-coverage in Pre-Op required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU or surgical recovery experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric patients required
• Critical care experience strongly preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Experience recovering Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgical patients required
• Proficiency monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines required
• 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• A facility-administered drug screen upon arrival is mandatory, including marijuana and CBD products; a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions
• 13-week contract
