American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Renal Unit (nights) in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 18 months of experience and an active AL or Compact RN license.

Details

• 36-bed Renal Unit in a hospital setting, caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease
• Specializes in post-hemodialysis care and ongoing peritoneal dialysis management
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as assigned
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• Uses Meditech EMR (experience preferred but not required)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available

Requirements

• Active RN license in Alabama or a Compact state required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No prior disciplinary hits on license (past or current)
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• NURSYS verification required
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
• Full SSN required for consideration

• Collaborates closely with community nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to deliver comprehensive renal patient care
• Supports patients throughout their full care journey, from diagnosis through treatment
• Virtual orientation will include competency-based modules — no HealthStream modules required prior to start
• RN candidates will receive a Cardiac Exam link after offer acceptance (must be completed within 24 hours of receipt)
• Solid navy scrubs required
