American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at an acute care teaching hospital, requiring interventional scrub and EP experience with Epic proficiency.

• Work setting is a short-term acute care teaching hospital in a Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab environment
• Patient population includes those presenting with AMI, chest pain, heart failure, NSTEMI, aortic stenosis, V-Tach, endocarditis, AFib, peripheral vascular disease, and sick sinus syndrome
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• RN Circulator role performing procedures in the diagnostic and interventional PCI environment, including conscious sedation under attending direction, sterile supply handoff, vital sign assessment, and Epic documentation
• Cross-training to run hemodynamics in the monitor tech role is likely
• Specialized equipment includes Impella and IABP
• Charting system is Epic; experience is required
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00–17:30), working every other weekend
• On-call is required with a rotating call schedule that includes evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; schedule may change based on unit needs
• Floating within the cardiac service line is required

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license (from candidate's state of permanent residence) required
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• Minimum 1 year of EP experience required
• Interventional scrub (Cath Lab/STEMI scrub) experience is required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required procedural skills include: cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations (left and right heart), PCI, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, and scrub procedures
• Preferred skills include: ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, TAVR, TEE, valvuloplasty, Watchman procedure, angioplasty, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Valid SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Fit testing required; facial hair must allow for proper mask fit testing

Additional Information

• Navy scrubs are required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of the assignment
• Candidates who have been permanent employees at any BJC facility must wait 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Travelers may work up to 18 months continuously before a 3-month break is required
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and must be completed prior to the start date
• No medical marijuana cards are accepted
• Candidates who obtained their RN degree outside of the U.S. without a MO, IL, or compact license should be aware of extended licensing timelines
