American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, active ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications, and night shift availability.

• Labor & Delivery unit within a women's hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Unit operates with an average daily census of 10 patients across 23 rooms
• Facility delivers between 100–200 births per month
• Patient population includes low-risk and high-risk antepartum, L&D, LDRP, and postpartum cases
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating within scope is required, including to other affiliated facilities within a 75-mile radius
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or a valid Compact RN license currently in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Travel nursing experience required — candidate must be ready to step in independently
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, and recognition/treatment of abnormal FHR patterns
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulating and recovery, hemorrhage/shock management, and administration of medications including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives
• Valid driver's license or state-issued ID and a utility bill in the candidate's name with a matching address dated within the last 3 months are required for consideration
• 2 supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include antepartum and postpartum care, labor management, neonatal resuscitation, surgical case assistance (C-sections, D&C, tubal ligation, cervical cerclage), and patient/family education
• Pain management responsibilities include epidural anesthesia, opioids, IV PCA, nitrous oxide, and general anesthesia monitoring
• Neonatal care duties include APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, ID/security banding, and radiant warmer/thermoregulation management
• Orientation includes clinical and non-clinical modules (approximately 2–8 hours); non-clinical module hours are billable, clinical module hours are non-clinical
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have at least 1 year of separation before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Maximum of 5 days of RTO will be accepted per 13-week assignment; no holiday RTO requests will be considered
