American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring the ability to independently scrub and circulate cardiac surgery cases.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) of a large, Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ beds
• Short-term acute care hospital setting
• Average patient ratio of 1:2
• Schedule consists of two 12-hour and two 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours
• Day and mid shifts available: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 10:45 AM–7:15 PM
• On-call required: two calls per M–F week (either 7:00 PM–11:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM), plus one day per week available to stay late
• Weekend on-call required: two 24-hour calls per schedule
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting via Epic

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required prior to start date (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Must be able to independently scrub and circulate cardiac surgery cases
• Trauma center experience at a large facility required
• No prior disciplinary actions or priors on nursing license
• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions considered

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is available for approximately $125/month
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
