Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and trauma center background.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with over 1,500 staffed beds
• Oncology patient population with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Schedule consists of two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week, days (0700-1900 and 0700-1500)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Charting performed in Epic
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Parking available at approximately $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted but must be active prior to start date
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior experience at a large Trauma Center required
• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• One professional reference required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required; religious and medical exemptions may be considered
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
