American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit position requiring at least one year of Med/Surg and step-down experience, with night shift availability and Level 1 trauma background.

Details

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Hospital-based Medicine Specialty Unit caring for patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
• Med/Surg (MS) and step-down (SD) experience required for this unit
• Level 1 trauma facility experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Med/Surg and step-down (SD) clinical experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating care with physicians and support staff
• Collaborates with patients and families to communicate care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 cumulative weeks before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance requirements (background check, drug screen, medical documentation) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
• BSN is preferred but not required
