American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a day-shift travel contract at a fast-paced Medical ICU requiring a minimum of 2 years of Medical ICU experience and an active NV RN license.

Details

• 8-bed Medical ICU unit at a chest pain accredited center (no Cath Lab or IR on-site; patients requiring those services are transferred to a sister campus)
• Supported by 1 Critical Care Technician per shift, with a dedicated group of intensivists rotating weekly and on-call 24/7 during their assigned week
• ICU Charge RN also serves as the Rapid Response RN
• Shift: Days, 3x12 (18:45–07:15)
• 13-week contract
• Floating may be required in-house to Med/Tele or ED/GSU, and potentially to a regional campus (Trauma/Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Neuro ICU, Step-Down ICU, or Tele units) depending on staffing needs
• Must be available to pick up one additional 12-hour shift every 4 weeks
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic for charting (training provided during orientation, or candidates may test out)

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (APEX)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile radius with a volume and pace comparable to a Level 1 trauma center
• Provides comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient outcomes
• Coordinates care with intensivists, critical care technicians, and other professionals across the care team
• At least 2 major holidays will be required during the contract
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration, as time is not added to the end of the contract to compensate for RTO
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a minimum 13-week break after their last contract before returning
