American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an L&D / OB night shift position at a small critical access hospital in Perryville, MO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a strong labor background.

Details

• Work setting is a Level III critical access hospital with a 24-bed acute care facility that includes a birthing center, emergency department, and surgery center
• Unit is Obstetrics and Gynecology (LDRP), with 7 total rooms including 2 dedicated labor rooms
• Patient population is Labor & Delivery, averaging approximately 8 deliveries per month
• Staffing ratio is 2 nurses per shift
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12)
• Weekend coverage is minimal and only required to help cover core staff PTO
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required as needed within scope; travelers are not assigned to medical units
• EMR is Epic
• Rotating holidays required

Requirements

• Active Missouri (MO) or Compact RN license required at time of consideration — no expiring certifications within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D / OB experience required
• Strong labor background required; L&D specialty experience preferred
• Fetal monitoring experience preferred
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
• No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months

• Candidates should be independent, confident in their skills, and comfortable working in a small, close-knit setting
• Facility-issued scrubs are provided
• Flu vaccination is required for all travelers working between November 1 and April 1 (exemptions must be client-approved)
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after completion, a 1-year separation from the facility or a transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
• Perryville, MO is located approximately 35 miles north of Cape Girardeau and 80 miles south of St. Louis, offering outdoor recreation, dining, wineries, and community events along the Mississippi River
