American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Stepdown position requiring at least one year of MS/SD experience, with a day shift schedule at an academic health system in Oklahoma City.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes a variety of medical patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• ICU experience preferred in addition to Med/Surg Stepdown experience

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Stepdown (MS/SD) experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in nursing theory, techniques, and procedures including IV therapy, medication administration, and patient monitoring
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to address cultural and language needs of patients
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Workers who have previously contracted at this facility may reapply after a 6-month separation period following a maximum of 26 weeks (one extension) of total service
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
