American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step Down experience, with a day shift schedule in a hospital setting.

Details

• Works in a Med Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Med/Surg and/or Step Down (SD) experience required; ICU experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Med/Surg and/or Step Down experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
• Basic computer skills required
• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Collaborates with physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicates care plans with patients and families
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 total weeks (including one extension); a 6-month separation period is required before returning for another contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer — the facility does not negotiate start dates and will not accommodate non-compliant travelers
