Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring night shift availability, cardiac drip and EKG competency, and over one year of telemetry or med/surg experience.

Details

• Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Patient ratios: 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Cardiac drip management and EKG interpretation are required components of this role
• Epic EMR is used on this unit
• Float to other units required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Every other weekend coverage required

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications (AHA-issued): BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ACLS preferred (AHA-issued)
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry or med/surg experience
• Proficiency with cardiac drips and EKG interpretation
• Epic EMR experience required

• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may designate travelers to an Emergency Team, which could require remaining at the facility during or after an emergency event or serving on a relief team — candidates uncomfortable with this expectation should not apply
