American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy and PACU position at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center in Rapid City, SD, requiring at least 2 years of experience and advanced endoscopy skills.

• Hospital setting at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital with a Primary Stroke and Chest Pain Center
• Endoscopy unit with 4 procedure rooms, 20 Pre-Op bays, and 14 PACU bays
• Patient types include upper and lower endoscopy procedures including advanced cases: EUS, EBUS, and ERCP, as well as EGD and colonoscopy
• Pre- and post-operative recovery care (Phase I and Phase II) with some ICU-level care required
• Patient ratios: Endo 1:1, Pre-Op 1:2, PACU Phase I 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity, PACU Phase II 1:2–3
• Anesthesia team provides sedation for 100% of cases
• Charting in Epic (experience required); additional equipment includes the ION robotic-assisted bronchoscopy system, Omnicell, and Alaris
• 8-hour variable shifts rotating between 0630–1500, 0730–1600, 0830–1700, and 0900–1800
• Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
• On-call required: one overnight shift per week (7p–7a) and every 3rd weekend; 15-minute response time required with sleep accommodations available on-site
• Floating may occur to Pre-Op, PACU, or floor as helping hands; travelers will not be assigned as the primary RN in the Main OR

Requirements

• Active RN license in South Dakota or a compact state license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
• Advanced endoscopy experience required, including EUS, EBUS, and ERCP
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
• DOB and SSN required for consideration
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility

• Team structure includes RN and Endo Tech support (x6) alongside a dedicated anesthesia team
• 1-week facility and unit orientation provided
• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 4 major holidays
• Time off requests require manager approval; low-census voluntary time off without pay may be available
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on-site
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait a full year before returning to this facility as a traveler
