Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care/SNF position requiring at least 2 years of LTC experience, a ND or compact RN license, and the ability to rotate between day and night shifts every other weekend.

Details

• Long term care facility with 26 beds
• Common patient diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
• Nurse functions as charge nurse, responsible for medication administration and wound care
• No IV therapy or titratable drips
• No telemetry monitoring on this unit
• Oxygen therapy via concentrators and portable concentrators
• Off-site pharmacy with no on-site medication dispensing system
• Physician available by phone after hours
• PT available as needed; social worker designee on team
• No RT on-site
• EMR: MatrixCare (Matrix)
• 12-hour shifts, 7a–7p/7p–7a, rotating days and nights
• Every other weekend required
• Every other major holiday required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• No blocked or self-scheduling

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of LTC experience required
• A driver's license is required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not be currently or have been within the past year directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• RTO requests of 7 days or fewer for the 13-week contract must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• 2–3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• No scrub color requirement; attire must be clean and presentable
• No BSN required
