American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a high-volume, Level 1 trauma academic medical center in Florida, requiring at least 3 years of ER experience and current TNCC certification.

Details

• Adult Emergency Department unit in a high-volume academic medical center — one of the highest volume EDs in the country
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week with variable days
• Weekends and holidays are required
• Floating within the facility is required — flexibility is essential for this position
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC
• Minimum 3 years of ER RN experience required
• At least 12 months of recent experience at an academic medical institution, or at minimum a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility in a major metropolitan area
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• At least 1 supervisor or charge RN reference dated within the last 12 months
• Employment history gaps exceeding 30 days must be explained

• This is a highly rated academic Level 1 trauma center recognized as a strong resume credit with a traveler-friendly culture
• All new RN starts must pass a specialty exam and an EKG test with a minimum score of 80% on each; 100% of lethal rhythms must be identified correctly regardless of overall EKG score — nurses are encouraged to review rhythms in the week prior to their start date
• A unit manager interview is required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates
• No RTO is permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• RTO is capped at 10 days for a 13-week contract; pre-approved time off is available 04/29/2026–05/03/2026
• Unplanned time off (UTO) may result in contract cancellation
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
