American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and the ability to scrub and circulate cardiac surgery independently.

Details

• Work setting is a large, short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds at a Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center
• Assignment is in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit
• Average patient ratio of 1:2
• Schedule consists of a combination of 12-hour and 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 10:45 AM–7:15 PM); alternative schedules of 4x10s or 3x12s may be considered
• On-call is required: two 24-hour weekend calls per 6-week block, plus two weekday on-call shifts per week (either 7:00 PM–11:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM), with one day per week available to stay late
• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• Charting is performed in Epic
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date; pending licensure may be accepted during the application process
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Must be able to scrub cardiac surgery independently and circulate
• Scrubbing is preferred in addition to circulating
• Prior experience at a large trauma center is required
• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• One professional reference required for consideration

• Former permanent staff of the facility must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
