American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at an academic medical center in Louisville, KY, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and prior travel experience.

• Position is located in the OR department of an academic medical center in Louisville, KY
• 31-OR suite facility performing high-acuity surgical cases including neuro (spine/cranial, navigation), ortho (robotics/arthroscopic), thoracic, vascular, transplant, and complex ENT/radical neck procedures
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Advanced surgical robotics are in use, including Mako, DaVinci SP & XI, O-Arm, and Rosa robots
• EMR: Cerner
• Day shift: 6:30am – 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week
• Saturday rotation every 6 weeks
• Call requirement: at least 40 hours of call per 6 weeks
• Float requirement: travelers remain within the OR and do not float outside the department
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in good standing required (no restrictions or violations on license)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and NIHSS (active certification required — proof of enrollment is not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 3+ years of OR experience and strong skills with high-acuity surgical patients preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• US Social Security Number required
• Full COVID and flu vaccination required — no exceptions
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position

• This is a high-acuity OR environment within a nationally recognized academic medical center with a history of surgical firsts, including hand, heart, and organ transplants
• The ideal candidate is flexible, adaptable, and willing to work across service lines and expand their clinical skill set

• CPI training is required for all RNs and may be completed onsite during orientation
• Gaps in work history of 3 months or more will require explanation
